Thank you for your meticulous tag management.
Thank you for your tireless review queue sweeps.
Thank you for your steadfast flag handling.
You poured so much energy into keeping the cogs of this site going for years. We appreciate you for that. But more than that, thank you for being our friend. Your advice is well taken.
Thank you for everything, we'll ...
From someone who was there when the site was just starting to walk (admittedly I arrived at bit late, 587 users after you), I can personally attest that its impossible to overstate the effort you've put into making this site live and breath.
I am surprised to learn you were that young. Your leadership and initiative was and is inspiring, and I don't ...
This happens from time to time,
If the questions are really different but the answers the same, suggest not to close as duplicate because.
This may change over time (as Blender changes, the answer may no longer be a duplicate for both).
You can always give a brief answer to one that links to the answer from another. (to avoid too much copy-pasting text).
I would say the best thing to do is a DV. By all means leave a comment asking them to expand on their answer; but low quality content should be DVed (that is how the sorting process works to always have the best answers on the top).
There is a rather thick gray line between what is low quality and not an answer, or just a low effort post.
When you are ...

I would like to nominate myself..
I'm a blender developer and have used blender professionally in previous jobs.
I've been involved with some of the open-movie projects, so have worked with small groups on projects and had experience helping artists.
I've been involved with GSOC and mentoring students since GSOC started.
Your auto question ban has nothing to do with you writing a "bad word" in a comment. (Although you really shouldn't do that.) It is because your questions have all been what SE calls "not well received." Which is a polite way of saying that you need to write better questions. (I sent you a message about this a week ago.) These auto bans us mods can not ...
Knowing this was coming (us mods talked about all this) did not make reading your goodbye any easier. To quote you "SAD. Bigly disappointed".
The only consolation here is that I will no longer need an urban dictionary tab open when in chat. :)

There are 490 moderator across all the SE sites. (so you are bound to see a diamond or two.)
Yet only the three BSE mods (gandalf3, iKlsR, and me) and SE employees will have diamonds attached to our name on this site.
The three users you linked to are employees of SE (and have mod+ abilities on every site.)

I would want all moderators to spend time on the site regularly, and actively participating in site activities, answering, moderating, reviewing and mentoring above and beyond the norm. This would show that the moderator was interested and active in the determining of the site's present and future atmosphere and quality.
I would also note that they ...
If a user is not active, he can not fulfill his duties as a moderator.
A user should be able to identify when a post is bad. Having lots of disputed flags would be a good indicator that he is a bad judge of quality.
A moderator should not only smash down the ban hammer whenever someone makes a mistake, but also encourage ...

A moderators job is to help keep the site civil and dignified.
A moderators job is not "teacher" of the site's content. The moderator is a teacher of the site's code of conduct.
If the moderators do their work properly, content-teachers who contribute to the site will want to stay because people who visit the ...
Well, let's look at what it means when you flag an answer as Not an Answer. The flagging dialogue reads:
not an answer
This was posted as an answer, but it does not attempt to answer the question. It should possibly be an edit, a comment, another question, or deleted altogether.
It appears to me that this answer does attempt to answer the question. Even if ...
I understand you want to get this sorted and you're probably frustrated with this process.
The message you are seeing on your question is slightly misleading and I understand why you asked the question again.
A closed question is not hidden from anyone and it can be voted to be reopened by users who have enough reputation (not just moderators).
Drop the ...
For the record I did not vote on any of the posts in question - your question, or dr. Sybren's answer. (I did however UV your meta question here).
An admin did not handle your flag, because we are mods. :)
Really though, none of the three mods touched your flag. When you flag something as "not an answer" it goes through the review queue, and if ...
Role Model - Always
Moderators set the tone and expectation for a community. A moderator who is rude, incomprehensible, unruly or unintelligent can lower expectations and confuse new users. This applies to all circumstances, chat, meta, main, comments and even other network sites. The moderator should be someone who is looked up to. Look to community ...
My requirements for moderators are very simple.
Moderators aren't leaders, they are protectors of community agreed scope, sanity and netiquette. In their choices they should be an example of the spirit of B.se. and should be seen to participate with the QA like everyone else.
Impartial, open to reason, and willing to concede for the greater good of ...
I like Samoth's idea of posting a better answer, with or without a downvote of a correct, but not very detailed one. However, to me two other bits of information should be taken to account: who'd asked the question, and who answered. If an experienced user posted the question, an answer similar to that described in the original question might be quite ...
I would really encourage not to DV short answers. Commenting about elaboration is good. But if it technically answers the question (what you included), then it is a good answer. There are so many "maybe" answers which should be DVed.
But if you want more details that you'd see yourself that could be added - why not make it a community answer? Or post your ...
